Some new requirements have been added for those who adopt from Hazel's country. It involves many more hours of adoption training for the adopting parents. This change transpired during the time we were waiting to have our court papers submitted, but it's all so new that our agency can't get any answers as to what will be counted as training hours and what won't. They worked for two weeks on gathering and documenting everything we've done so far and this Monday, October 1, our facilitator is going to submit our dossier to the court.
We are praying fervently that everything will be accepted as is. We would really appreciate your prayers, as well! It's already been four months since we met Hazel. Even if our court date is assigned this week, it will be November at the soonest before we go. We're praying that they will at least assign the two court dates (one is a preliminary hearing that only our facilitator attends and the 2nd one is the one we are required to attend.) We can gather more documents or do more training if they need us to while we wait for our court date to come...we just need those dates!!
We feel like a part of us is missing without our daughter. It's hard to be so far away for so long. It's so hard knowing that she's sitting in that orphanage without much attention right now, when she could be here! Thanks for your concern and prayers for Miss Hazel. We truly appreciate it.
