Mothers

Hello, friends. Are you doing anything special for Mother’s Day this weekend? Are you going to be pampered at all? Will you be granted your wildest dreams, like some yard work or happy kids?

I think Mother’s Day is a hard one for most of us. We give, give, give all year long without a whole lot of thanks or praise, and we sort of expect that on Mother’s Day our children are going to make up for it somehow, and everyone will get along wonderfully for just.one. day...and maybe even make us feel like queens. Then, when it doesn’t turn out like that, we take it all personal, like maybe they don’t think we’re amazing after all.

But I was reminded of something really important last night at a “Guilt-Free Motherhood Celebration” that was put on by our women’s organization in our church (The Relief Society.) This was such a great reminder:

What we should think of most on Mother’s Day is how wonderful we are to our Father in Heaven!

We MUST remember how much HE cherishes us, no matter what we do wrong. How much HE appreciates us for all that we are doing. As moms, we are building His kingdom here on earth!
He knows it’s hard, But He’s counting on us, and He’ll help us do our best. What we are doing for him is so much more important than anything else we can do on this earth.

Here are a few pictures from "Moms and Muffins" at Kindergarten this morning.

I love my kindergarten cuties.
