To Catch a Leprechaun

Max came home from school happier than ever today. All the kids got to wear green shirts, instead of uniform shirts, which was one thing. But then, his class made a leprechaun trap when they got there. He said it consisted of a box with gold tennis shoes inside. His first grade class currently owns the "gold sneakers" that are awarded to the class who has run the most laps around the school in one month. They are sneakers that are spray-painted gold, and it's quite an honor to display them in your classroom.

They went out to recess, came back and HOLY COW, the sneakers were gone!

"I've always wondered if Leprechauns were real," said Dad when Max was telling him all about it on the phone.

"They ARE real! The gold sneakers were GONE and there were three desks turned over!" exclaimed Max.

After telling me and Dad the whole story, the very next thing he did is get out a mason jar, find some gold coins (Mexican and Canadian money) and make a trap of his own.

Speaking of St. Patrick's Day, we had a fun Irish/green dinner on Sunday. We invited the Englebrights, and they brought about half of the dinner and they all wore green, which made it even more festive.

The Menu:

Corned Beef Ruebens
Steamed Asparagus
Cole Slaw
Broccoli/Pasta Salad
Pistachio Jello Salad
Spinach Dip with Multigrain Chips
Simply Limeade & Fresca Punch
Orange/Pineapple Cake with Green Fluffy Topping

So cute. Good luck on catching him, I've heard they're very sneaky! I love that you recorded this Heather. It's the little things like this that are easy to forget. Max will laugh about this when he's bigger.

I especially love the note that says he should come to get the gold. That´s so cute. Well, good luck then! Tell me when you caught him!
