The Monday before Valentines Day, we invited the Englebrights over for a Valentines Family Home Evening. We love that we have such good friends close by that we can celebrate silly holidays with...just because.
We had a simple chicken noodle soup and salad dinner. Then the girls went downstairs and Ashlynn used her amazing talents to choreograph a dance to "Party in the USA." The girls performed it for us. We were impressed with the creativity that she used, in such a short period of time! Here they are "Moving their hips like yeah!"
We came back upstairs for some homemade chocolate ice cream and a lesson on LOVE by Max. He did a great job.And I sure love my Bennett boy.
Valentines Day was on a Sunday this year, which was also a perfect reason to get together with family. I didn't get any pictures, but we got together with my Northern Utah sisters and their families (The Larsens and Bachers) at the Larsen's home and had a wonderful dinner.
I have to say a little about eating with these two families. The food is always SOOOO delicious. We all really enjoy fresh, flavorful, colorful, food and we're not afraid to experiment. Of course, it's nice conversation, too. The kids all eat at the main table and the parents go to the formal dining room for a little peace and quiet. (With 13 kids under 13 in one room, it's what you have to do!)
It's interesting that we are all so different in personality and interests, but we love to get together and talk and we always have a great time together. The kids would love it if we did it every month!
Family is where it's at! I LOVE my family.
