Jeremy gave Eli a beautiful blessing this past Sunday in church. His brother Ryan, brother-in-laws Dave, Kam, Kevin, and both of our dads stood in the blessing circle with him. Here are some of the things that were said in the blessing. (Thanks, Michelle for taking notes!):The Name Given: Eli Stephen Fillmore
(I know, what a surprise.)
"We bless you that you will:
- receive the blessings that come from living close to God
- always live worthy to enter the temple
- have physical strength and health to perform your earthly duties
- often be found in service to others and find joy and feel the Spirit while doing this
- have a good understanding and receive a good education
- prepare to serve a mission
- some day be sealed in the temple to a beautiful young woman
- gain a strong testimony
- choose the right when faced with temptation
- have any other blessings that you will stand in need of throughout your life.
Jeremy did a great job, even with Eli's fusses interrupting his thoughts. Eli didn't like being laid back. He never likes that position--Why would he during his blessing? I wish we would have remembered this same thing from Bennett's blessing, and adjusted things accordingly. Oh well, it was wonderful anyway.
Lots of family members came to show their love for our new little Eli. On my side, my parents and Michelle and Dave & family. (Jen & Ryan were at Lake Powell and everyone else lives too far away.) On Jeremy's side, the whole family was able to make it. Even Ryan and Callie, who just had a baby a couple of weeks ago, got up at 6 am to make it here by 9:00. We are so blessed to have such amazing family.
After sacrament meeting, we came back to the house for a delicious brunch. It was a beautiful summer day. A perfect day to celebrate a new life.

Sounds like a great day Heather. Wish we could have been there. Can't wait to meet Eli in a couple of weeks.
Cutest little Eli!
