I wanted to teach the kids what this holiday was about. We didn't know of a military cemetary close by, so we chose the Salt Lake Cemetary, where we would likely find some past church leaders. We looked for all the prophets graves that we could and tried to find the oldest pioneer, as well. We found four prophets. I wonder how many are actually buried there. It's a huge place! And I think the oldest person that we found was born in 1809.
After we left the cemetary, we headed down to the Gateway Shopping metropolis to indulge in some ice cream cones. A stop at the Love Sac Store provided a great photo opportunity for Eli.
Bennett, Max and Sadie were dying to go to the children's Museum, but when we got there, it was 25 minutes from closing, and we couln't justify paying even the reduced price of $5 per ticket to go in for that long. Bummer. But I talked Jeremy into working a deal with the ticket girl, maybe $2 each? What do you know, she let us in free! It was short, but SOOO sweet! We nearly had the place to ourselves. Bennett was thoroughly captivated by the water table area, and didn't have to share it with anyone!
...And what's a trip to Gateway without catching an IMax movie? It ended a little early for Eli and I, though. He had a blow-out diaper and didn't like it a bit.
