The Utah Symphony has what's called their "Lolipops" series. These are concerts that take place on Saturdays and are tailored to kids. The concerts are affordable at only $5 for kids and $10 for adults. Love that! It's also a great way to get kids to appreciate classical music because it's not boring. They are only an hour long and they have all the instruments out in the lobby for the kids to try afterward if they want. The one we went to was a symphony combined with two mimes. These mimes wanted to try everything from being the conductor to playing the trumpet to ballet dancing. It was really cute and hillarious. The only one who got bored after a few minutes was our two-year-old. What do you expect? Luckily, it's more laid back than a regular symphony, so people around us were forgiving of our commotion.
After the Symphony, we went to the Gateway food court and got lunch. Then we walked over to the Children's Museum. That place ROCKS! We spent 3 hours there and everyone was totally happy and entertained the whole time. There are cool educational activities for all ages of kids (I'd say 12 and under.) Sadie and I went into their classroom and danced with some of the dancers from the Salt Lake Dance Repretoir Theatre Company. Wow! They were so powerful. It made me want to take a creative dance class.
Here's a slideshow of the day. We couldn't take pictures inside the theatre at Abravenel Hall, but we got some of the coming and going.

Looks like a fun weekend. Our kids loved the science museum we went to last year in San Diego so much they've been asking to go back ever since.
