Bennett at Nine

Bright
Fun
Creative
Athletic
Imaginative

So hard to believe this boy is nine!
Some of Bennett's favorite things right now:
1. Playing with friends, every chance he gets
2. Figuring out how things work
3.Sports. He's very agile and fast!
4. Laughing
5. Hanging out with big brother Max whenever he'll let him
6. Creating. He still loves to create

This past month, he has been staying home
for the first hour of every school day
to work on reading, spelling, handwriting and math facts
with me.
He struggles with reading and memorizing.
So we are doing the Barton Reading Program for dyslexia
as well as some of the reflex integration stuff
that I have learned this past year.
It's impossible to do this with him after school.
So this is our next best option.
Hoping and praying we can get him caught up this year!

Bennett has been so helpful with his younger siblings lately.
I'm so grateful for this!
When I am having tense moments with the girls,
he will take them off to play sometimes
without being asked.

Bennett's teachers say that he's just amazing with Anya at school.
They aren't in the same grade any more, but when she is having
a stubborn moment and won't leave the library or computer lab,
they will get Bennett and he comes in,
gently sweet-talks her and takes her to her class.
He also picks her and Eli up
at the end of every day to take them out to the bus.
Don't know what I'd do without this kid.

All photos in this post except this one were taken by his aunt, Jennifer Bacher. :)
My strong, valiant Bennett Boy.
Love him!
