Max played on the Bantam Basketball league this year. It’s a step up from Rec ball, where they are put into A or B level teams according to the high school area they are in. Our good friend, Matt B decided to put together a team and be the coach. So Max was put on the team, even though it was a little bit of a stretch. Most of the boys were older and more experienced. It was great challenge for Max. We’re so proud of him!
Matt was an excellent coach! He’s very competitive and innovative. He worked hard practicing new skills and drills with the boys each week. When they entered the tournament, they were in last place according to the number of games they had won. But they made it all the way to the championship game in their bracket!
Here they are after the semi-final game. Jackson (left) is Max’s best bud. Chase (right) is a new friend he made on the team. What cute boys. Have I ever mentioned that ten-eleven is my FAVORITE age with kids? Oh, gosh if they could just stay this age a little longer. If I was a school teacher, I would teach 4th or 5th grade.
In the final game last night, our the score was neck-to-neck the whole game, then the other team ended up winning by 2 points. Such a disappointment. But like Jeremy said, if you’re going to lose, that’s the way to do it!
We got brave and took the whole family to the game. It was a little stressful, but we’re glad we did it. I think it meant a lot to Max to see his whole family up in the stands.
What’s the best way to celebrate a great season? You go to Krispy Kreme Donuts!
The Brady’s joined us there, as well. Cute Dillon is one of Bennett’s best buds. We’re sooo happy that the Brady’s moved in to our neighborhood a few years ago. They are the best!
Well, one more basketball season down for Max. Landon’s Jr. Jazz tournament game is tonight. Then we’ll be moving on to baseball season! Hopefully we’ll have a break for a month or two first.
