Hinton Reunion '10 was a 10!

We spent 3 days in the little old town of Ephraim last weekend with the Hintons for our annual reunion.  We stayed in some student apartments near Snow College.  Each family had their own 3-bedroom apartment with kitchens.  The kids spent a lot of time playing board games on living room floors, and playing pool and ping pong in the apartments' clubhouse.  Every year our kids look forward to the Hinton reunion.  There's never a dull moment with so many cousins.

Friday night we went to the Mormon Miracle Pageant at the Manti Temple.  It's a huge production put on by over 900 cast and crew members from the little town of Manti.  Over 15,000 people come each night of the production the last two weekends in June.  Here are some pictures from Jen. (Any pictures you see below that are actually GOOD...Jenny took.  I'm so glad she'll share her awesome photography with me.)

Saturday we went to Palisade State Park and relaxed for a few hours in the sun and shade of some big cottonwood trees.  We took turns paddling out on the lake on a canoe. some did a little fishing and swimming.
I love this shot. Grandpa paid cousin Garrett 2 bucks to swallow a minnow. GULP!  The other classic is of Grandma in the canoe.  Look at her expression.  Love it!

Jeremy and I took turns with busy-boy Eli.  Here's Sadie holding a frog probably her first time in her life.  Look at the difference in photography.  I took that one, and Jen took the one below that with Sadie sitting on her dad's lap.  Ok...so I need a nicer camera, lense and a little(a lot?)  more practice.  I'll get there some day. :)

That evening we celebrated my parents 50th wedding anniversary!  My sisters put together a great skit/play that brought us through all the decades of our parents marriage.  They played music from each era and had the kids dress up in costumes from each era, acting as our family.  Much of the production was ad libbed.  But so much fun.  Here's the audience.  You can see by their smiles that it was pretty entertaining!

Here is the gorgeous couple on June 1, 1960, posing for a picture after their wedding in Los Angeles.
And here are two of their grandchildren, Eleise and BJ acting as the bride and groom.  Eleise is wearing my mom's original silk dress!  She looks so much like her grandmother, too!
At the end of the play, we did a little dancing...

and ate some cake.
Another great get-together with the Hinton Clan!  Happy 50th Anniversary, G&G Hinton!

My favorite moment is when dad tried to twirl mom around and says "ah there goes my shoulder". Nothing like growing old with someone.
