About 100 of them came running over at about 11 am in their swimsuits, with towels in hands and smiles on faces.
They didn't care that it was threatening to rain and hardly felt like summer that day (like most of the days we had in June.) They just wanted to get WET!

It was actually one of the four activities that we are asked to have with our primary children every year. I would never volunteer out of the blue to put on a party of this scale. But with the help of three incredible women and about 7 more primary workers who came to help that day, we pulled it off! One and a half hours of summer fun, complete with a relay race, limbo, tug-of-war, an obstacle course, Otter Pops, pizza and a beach story. It was a SPLASHING success!

Max told his dad that morning that the weather would be good enough because he said a prayer that it would. And sure enough, the clouds rolled by the whole hour and a half, and just as we were cleaning up, the winds picked up and it got cold. I imagine there were lots of similar prayers offered that morning. I love the faith of children.
