sisters.

Two peas in a pod. Very different personalities,
but complimentary in every way.
One likes boyish stuff and the other loves babies.

Big sis is always watching out for little sis.
Making sure she has what she needs.
Hugs when she's sad
water when she's thirsty
a companion when she's lonely.
I see a beautiful relationship emerging.

Now that summer is here, I'm realizing more and more
why we were led to add Hazel to our crew
when we did.
(Other than the fact that her country was about to
close it's doors to American adoptions)

Bennett and Eli love their sisters dearly.

They even love hanging out together.

But the thing is
they have a whole lot of friends
who live within walking distance.

Even little Eli boy,
who has been Anya's best pal from day one
is playing with his buddies most of the time these days.

If they're playing at our house, Anya will usually join them
and Hazel will tag along.

But if they aren't, poor Anya gets left in the dust.

"I go too?" She always asks.

This is one of the hard realities of having a disability.
Especially one that makes talking so dang hard.

Invitations are, and will be
 few.

Without Hazel around, Anya would have a lot of sad days.

We're learning that The Lord's timing is always perfect.
It may make things a little a lot more
challenging
loud
inconvenient?
than we would choose...

but He knows.

He knows.

Great post. I think about this all the time. But I wonder with Max's extra dx of autism, if adopting another with Ds would be like adopting another typical kid. And there's no way I can handle another autistic kiddo! ;)
