Yeah, our little girl is now a YOUNG WOMAN! She turned 12 while we were in Russia. But before we left, we made sure to get a little celebrating in. She had been planning her big birthday bash for months and there was no way she was going to wait until we returned to throw this party. So we had it 4 days before we left. It was a really crazy day. But now that we're back, I'm glad we did it when we did! It was quite the production.
The party was held at Jeremy's office foyer. Interesting place for a birthday party, I know. But it worked great! We served a dinner of sub sandwhiches, salad, veggies and lime punch. Then served a homemade white cake that we decorated ourselves with a combination of lemon cream frosting and fondant. It turned out pretty cute, if we do say so ourselves. :)Sadie had about 8 girls from her school class and a few from the ward there.
One of the favorite activities was dancing to Justin Beiber on top of bubble wrap.
Later that night, they used the popped bubble wrap to adorn Sadie in a lovely bridal gown.
The staircase made a perfect place for a fashion show.
Each of the girls konked her on the head with their gift and disguised their voices as she guessed who it was.
They did "blind makeovers" where one girl sits behind another and applies makeup by reaching around her. Nice results, don't you think?
We made this poster and printed it on Jeremy's big printer at work.
While we were gone, Sadie was spoiled rotten by friends and family on her actual b-day. Michelle and Jenny took her and the other girl cousins to Tepanyaki's Japanese Steak House for a yummy dinner, then to a movie. They even gave her a cute shirt and some earrings. AND when she got to the Brady's the next day, they spoiled her with Sushi for dinner (her favorite.)
To top it all off, when she got home that night, she found this on her bedroom door.
Sadie is finally with all of her friends in Young Women's, enjoying life with the big girls. She has been waiting for this for the past year. I'm so excited for her to take part in the great benefits of the Young Women's program in our church. We are so blessed to have it!
Happy Birthday to my very favorite Young Woman, Sadie Sue.
We Love You!!
