Good Morning, Nine Year Old!

S.turned NINE on Feb. 22. She seems to have turned into a "tween" overnight! In the past month she has grown out of ALL of her size 8 pants:) One of our favorite birthday traditions is breakfast in bed. S. put in her order the night before, telling us exactly what she wanted. Although she didn't have a "friend" party this year, she was still treated like a queen. She got out of school early that day so we could drive to St. George. That night, we went out to eat at one of her favorite restaurants..The Golden Corral, where the waiters all sang to her. Then we had cake and ice cream at Grandma & Grandpa H's house. The next morning, Grandma took her out shopping (the ultimate dream.) They found some awesome amethyst earrings and a cute white purse that she ADORES! What a gal. We love our S.

looks yummy, what did you make her? It's hard to tell by the picture. This reminds me of our family growing up. I need to carry on that tradition with our kids. Do you remember we always requested eggs and lots of sauted mushrooms? Or was it crepes?

Oh yeah, that's right! I forgot about the mushroom part. Crepes were a favorite as well. She actually had a poached egg on toast, a yogurt parfet and some sausage links (had to make a special trip to the store for those.)
