Ushering in the Season

This year we thought we'd try something new for Christmas. We went to a tree farm and chose a real tree. We wanted a really tall one for our TALL ceilings in our new house.
It was such a fun adventure! Don't know if we'll ever use our fake one again.

Oh where, oh where is our perfect tree?

We FOUND it!  Twelve feet tall (at least,) beautiful shape, nice color. Time to watch it fall to the ground.

We seemed to have lost our angel and tree skirt in the move. Bummer deal.
Bennett made a special star, though. Isn't it cute?

We just need a little more garland.
This tree required a LOT more trimmings than our regular one.

We're so excited to add Anya's hand-made cross-stitched stocking
to our mantle on Christmas Eve.
We can't wait, Aunt Susan!

Anya took a liking to Santa at the United Angels party. This was her first time meeting him. She and Eli hopped right up on his lap and had a good 'ol chat.
Eli was afraid to look at him. But I think Anya liked him.
What do you think?

Christmas is in the air and we're ready!
